SLEEP RETREAT
Is this Program right for me?
This program is ideal if you need to improve your sleep quality, restore energy levels, de-stress, establish a sustainable sleep routine and feel more prepared to face daily challenges or pave the way for a healthier and happier life.
Some guidelines for relaxing and having a great night's rest:
- Find your sleep schedule and stick to it. Being consistent when going to bed, and especially when waking up, is one of the best ways to improve sleep quality; Eliminate caffeine by 2pm. With a half-life of 6 to 8 hours, stopping around 2pm will ensure that caffeine will not steal your sleep in quality or quantity; Stop drinking alcohol 3 hours before bedtime. This ensures that a glass or two of wine with dinner won't stop you from reaching the deep stages of physically restorative sleep; exercise daily, but be careful not to exercise too close to bedtime; in the morning, this helps reset your circadian clock and maintain abundant quality sleep.
Good dreams!
About Yoga Nidra
It is a physically passive practice performed lying down and in silence. Yoga Nidra is one of the variants of yoga and, among other things, it helps to understand what the mind is. The term nidra in Sanskrit means “to sleep”. From a yoga nidra perspective, we are asleep when we realize that the world is made up of solid, separate objects.
According to some studies, 15 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 1 hour of sleep. This technique is capable of causing one of the deepest levels of physical, mental and emotional relaxation, providing a deep sleep where you remain conscious. It is a state of total body relaxation, where the practitioner becomes increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of instructions.
Many scientific studies prove that deep relaxation is extremely effective in combating stress, chronic anxiety, depression, recovery from traumatic processes and many other psychological illnesses. Yoga Nidra is a very powerful discipline developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. It is about learning to consciously relax, releasing our creative abilities and developing our inner potential.
